Transcript<\/a><\/span>\n<div class=\"read_div\" id=\"read542278681\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>okay so this question<br \/>\nshowed up on measure slack and for those<br \/>\nof you not familiar with measure slack<br \/>\nsign up for it it&#8217;s a it&#8217;s an incredible<br \/>\nresource<br \/>\na great slack community<br \/>\nwith all sorts of interesting topics in<br \/>\nthe analytics testing data science you<br \/>\nknow data visualization as you can see<br \/>\nhere lots of<br \/>\nchannels and uh what&#8217;s nice is you can<br \/>\nsearch it and stuff<br \/>\nthey don&#8217;t uh<br \/>\nyou don&#8217;t have content that&#8217;s that&#8217;s<br \/>\ndeleted it&#8217;s got special permissions too<br \/>\nfrom the slack sponsor to allow all the<br \/>\ncontent to be stored so highly recommend<br \/>\nthat but uh this was a a question deep<br \/>\nquestion i thought i put together a<br \/>\nvideo then rather typing response<br \/>\nusually sometimes chime in<br \/>\nto adobe target related<br \/>\nuh questions on here uh but this user<br \/>\nhas a question about adobe target using<br \/>\nthe inbox third party id which if you&#8217;re<br \/>\nnot doing that you absolutely should do<br \/>\nthat so the situation here is um<br \/>\nit&#8217;s often used to stitch activities<br \/>\ntogether so if you pass the unbox third<br \/>\nparty id which is your id to adobe<br \/>\ntarget it prioritizes your id over adobe<br \/>\ntarget it&#8217;s a wonderful feature<br \/>\num and so if you log in on one device or<br \/>\nanother device what have you all of your<br \/>\nprofile data which means all of your<br \/>\nadobe target activity data will<br \/>\nwill go over to the new device so you if<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re an experienced b and in a certain<br \/>\ntest you&#8217;ll get experience beyond the<br \/>\nother tests so<br \/>\nreally really powerful in that regard so<br \/>\nthe question is that it was working<br \/>\ngreat uh but the test experience is no<br \/>\nlonger triggered for most of our test<br \/>\naccounts so something seems to have gone<br \/>\nwrong<br \/>\nthis has happened with one of the mia<br \/>\nprovo customers just recently so i&#8217;ll<br \/>\njump and explain what happened and how<br \/>\nit works so<br \/>\nuh i&#8217;ve got two activities here uh unbox<br \/>\nthird party a and third party b so these<br \/>\nare two<br \/>\ndistinct individual activities so if you<br \/>\ni&#8217;ll just use mia provo<br \/>\nuse this chrome extension that we built<br \/>\nit&#8217;s free for the target community to<br \/>\nlook at the ids so here<br \/>\nhere we have the id so this is actually<br \/>\nbased off of an id service that we use<br \/>\nit&#8217;s a unique id per device<br \/>\nso we&#8217;re passing this device id so if i<br \/>\nwere to log in on different devices i<br \/>\nwould have this id as well<br \/>\nnow if i get into a certain activity<br \/>\nlet&#8217;s say i turn in i turn on activity a<br \/>\nso i get into activity a within here so<br \/>\nif i come back to here<br \/>\nrespond refresh my page<br \/>\nyou can see i play with adobe target a<br \/>\nlot i get into i set up a lot of<br \/>\nactivities there i am i&#8217;m in group a so<br \/>\nthat id<br \/>\nin fact all three of these ids<br \/>\nnow uh have me associated with that<br \/>\nparticular id<br \/>\nnow if i clear my cookies and clear my<br \/>\ncookies and clear my cookies i will<br \/>\nalways get<br \/>\nthis activity a within experience b as<br \/>\npart of this test<br \/>\nthere&#8217;s nothing i can do i am like as<br \/>\nlong as i&#8217;m going to have this id which<br \/>\nis typically a server-side id i&#8217;m going<br \/>\nto continue to always get this<br \/>\nparticular activity now the slack user<br \/>\nthat had the questions like we&#8217;re no<br \/>\nlonger getting this<br \/>\num<br \/>\nwhat what the issue is is when that idea<br \/>\nis seen so we want to make sure so if i<br \/>\nwere to like let&#8217;s say log out and<br \/>\nhere&#8217;s an example uh as well so um<br \/>\ni&#8217;m<br \/>\nlet&#8217;s say a test is running here i don&#8217;t<br \/>\neven know oh looks like they are using<br \/>\nadobe target ironically um<br \/>\nso<br \/>\nyou you get a signed experience here<br \/>\nlet&#8217;s say it&#8217;s a test that spans the<br \/>\ninsecure and secure space but then once<br \/>\nyou log in<br \/>\nthe the third party id is going to be<br \/>\nseen again<br \/>\nand that&#8217;s going to put you back to the<br \/>\noriginal test experiences<br \/>\nso if the id is no longer available when<br \/>\nthe request is being made so when you<br \/>\ncan see here on page load this id is<br \/>\nbeing passed<br \/>\nthat&#8217;ll do it that&#8217;ll put you a random<br \/>\nif you&#8217;re if you&#8217;re i don&#8217;t have cookies<br \/>\nthat&#8217;ll put you in a potentially<br \/>\ndifferent experience here<br \/>\nthe other situation that i&#8217;ve seen is<br \/>\ni&#8217;m in activity a but if i were to turn<br \/>\non activity b um or stop this activity<br \/>\nand create a copy of it that releases me<br \/>\nso that that id that i have within here<br \/>\num<br \/>\nis tied with with that particular<br \/>\nactivity a<br \/>\nbut if i stop a and put turn on b or the<br \/>\ndifferent activity or create a copy of<br \/>\nit<br \/>\nthe id is then d stitch it&#8217;s removed and<br \/>\ni&#8217;ve got an equal opportunity to get<br \/>\ndifferent experiences so<br \/>\nlong story short<br \/>\nit&#8217;s either a new activity and you&#8217;ve<br \/>\nbeen assigned a different experience<br \/>\nor the ids the test ideas that you were<br \/>\nusing<br \/>\nwere allocated to a different experience<br \/>\nif that makes sense hopefully this is<br \/>\nclear but please hit me up<br \/>\nadd a comment or email me<br \/>\nif it&#8217;s not clear but that should do the<br
