Adobe Target profiles easily support targeting such an audience but the Analysts needed to only count purchases if they happened during the same session as that third visit.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This video highlights how you can use Adobe Target &#8216;events&#8217; and data like Profile Attributes as Activity Goals and still have the data in Adobe Analytics via A4T.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure Transcript<\/a><\/span>\n<div class=\"read_div\" id=\"read1751427924\" style=\"display: none;\"> <\/p>\n<p>hello so i&#8217;ve got a pretty cool use case<br \/>\nhere a client of ours was asking us<br \/>\nabout a specific situation a specific<br \/>\nbusiness requirement and how to approach<br \/>\nit<br \/>\nso it&#8217;s like oh wow this is a wonderful<br \/>\nexample of activity conversions<br \/>\nwhich we we get a lot of questions about<br \/>\nand and so here here&#8217;s a really cool use<br \/>\ncase let me outline it for you so<br \/>\nthe requirement is to create an audience<br \/>\nthat starts incrementing visits<br \/>\nto the cart starting today so it&#8217;s brand<br \/>\nnew audience it&#8217;s it&#8217;s not something we<br \/>\nwe can bring in legacy visits to from<br \/>\nadobe analytics and share to the<br \/>\nexperience cloud and i should have<br \/>\nprefaced this is for a test that they<br \/>\nwant to run via adobe target<br \/>\non the third visit to the cart they need<br \/>\nto show a promo code but only on the<br \/>\nthird visit<br \/>\nfourth fifth sixth whatever other visit<br \/>\nonly the third visit is to get this<br \/>\nparticular promo code i think there is<br \/>\nsome data behind the decision for the<br \/>\nthird visit<br \/>\nbut that wasn&#8217;t shared with me so<br \/>\nthey also want to only count purchases<br \/>\nmade from those visitors when their<br \/>\nvirtual was made during that third visit<br \/>\nto the cart if someone came to the cart<br \/>\non their third visit<br \/>\nadobe target would<br \/>\nput them and show them the promo code<br \/>\nthese these folks big users of of a for<br \/>\nt<br \/>\num they don&#8217;t want to see and use the<br \/>\npurchase event in in analytics because<br \/>\nit wouldn&#8217;t have the definition<br \/>\nassociated from adobe target in terms of<br \/>\nthe third visit<br \/>\nso the fourth requirement is to get this<br \/>\ndata to get this success event into<br \/>\nadobe<br \/>\nanalytics so they can do deeper analyses<br \/>\napply their segmentation and all the<br \/>\nrich stuff that they do within that<br \/>\nparticular world<br \/>\nso this is very doable this is a<br \/>\nwonderful example of taking a success<br \/>\nevent from adobe target and giving it<br \/>\nover to adobe analytics to do the deep<br \/>\ndiving so first things first in order to<br \/>\nuh<br \/>\nto create this required we&#8217;re going to<br \/>\nuse the target profile<br \/>\na wonderful little tool it&#8217;s the cdp<br \/>\nbefore cdp&#8217;s were a thing<br \/>\nso<br \/>\nwe go into adobe target uh we go under<br \/>\naudiences and i went ahead and i created<br \/>\nthis particular script already<br \/>\nso there it is cart visit to anonymize<br \/>\nthe company i change the domain<br \/>\nbut essentially what happens is anytime<br \/>\nthis<br \/>\nurl is seen it&#8217;s going to grab the<br \/>\nsession value which is a<br \/>\nadobe manages it and compares it against<br \/>\nthe the last one which is nice it&#8217;s a<br \/>\nwonderful way to increment visits<br \/>\nand so this this works good this handles<br \/>\nuh requirement one creating an audience<br \/>\nfrom from day x<br \/>\nuh based off of certain behaviors<br \/>\nso now we&#8217;ll go about kind of creating<br \/>\nthis test i&#8217;ll go ahead and create this<br \/>\ntest in target just to show you how this<br \/>\nall kind of comes together so<br \/>\ncome over to here let&#8217;s just do an a b<br \/>\ntest i&#8217;ll use form to be quick<br \/>\nto do next<br \/>\nso let&#8217;s just use target global mbox<br \/>\nnow what i want to do is i want to limit<br \/>\nthis to the cart so let&#8217;s uh<br \/>\nthe cart but also uh the the third visit<br \/>\ni can combine it the next step but as a<br \/>\nbest practice you should you should<br \/>\nlocation specific stuff here targeting<br \/>\nis more audience related even though the<br \/>\ncart page<br \/>\nis audience and uh but it&#8217;s better to<br \/>\nthink this let me just rename this<br \/>\ncard uh activity<br \/>\nconversions<br \/>\ndemo<br \/>\nso we&#8217;re going to come in here add in<br \/>\naudience requirements let me just create<br \/>\na<br \/>\ncar page<br \/>\nsite pages current page<br \/>\nurl<br \/>\na lot of companies are passing uh adobe<br \/>\nanalytics page names it&#8217;s a wonderful<br \/>\nbest practice i would encourage that<br \/>\nyou&#8217;d be able to can use that definition<br \/>\nunder custom and be able to use that as<br \/>\nan inbox parameter but this for demo<br \/>\npurposes let&#8217;s say that&#8217;s the cart page<br \/>\nboom cart page has been added okay i&#8217;ll<br \/>\nleave that i&#8217;m not going to sign an<br \/>\noffer but this would be the promo code<br \/>\nfor people that come on their third<br \/>\nvisit you can add in multiple<br \/>\nexperiences what have you<br \/>\nnext uh this would be your<br \/>\ncart visit behavior so what we want to<br \/>\ndo is create audience so this will be<br \/>\nthird visit to cart<br \/>\ntarget definition of visit since it&#8217;s<br \/>\nbecoming from the target profile<br \/>\nokay we&#8217;ll go to visit a profile because<br \/>\nit&#8217;s a visitor profile attribute and we<br \/>\nwill change this to cart visit not<br \/>\ncontains<br \/>\nwe&#8217;re going to do equals and i have it<br \/>\nthe profile script it&#8217;s not going to be<br \/>\n3.0 it&#8217;s going to be 3 exactly 3.<br \/>\nand so this will make sure that this<br \/>\ndidn&#8217;t get<br \/>\nwill not show the promo code to people<br \/>\nwho have visits greater than three or<br \/>\nless than three<br \/>\nso boom<br \/>\nfirst the location of the experience the<br \/>\naudience of the experience next i&#8217;m come<br \/>\nover here<br \/>\nand then you&#8217;ll remember the a for t was<br \/>\na requirement so we&#8217;re going to choose<br \/>\nanalytics<br \/>\nyou will choose our<br \/>\nreport suite in adobe analytics okay so<br \/>\nnow<br \/>\nthis is where<br \/>\nwe&#8217;re satisfying this requirement okay<br \/>\nkeep in mind they they<br \/>\nwe we want to only count conversions<br \/>\nthat happen<br \/>\nwhen it was happened during<br \/>\nthe visitors<br \/>\nthird visit to the cart so the same<br \/>\nsession of that third cart visit here&#8217;s<br \/>\nhow we&#8217;ll do this<br \/>\nso go back to target<br \/>\nso what we want to do<br \/>\nif i were to choose analytics metrics<br \/>\nyou certainly want that would work but<br \/>\nthey wouldn&#8217;t satisfy this case<br \/>\nfor those companies that are using<br \/>\nheavy users of a4t this is kind of<br \/>\nthis is helpful to see reporting in<br \/>\nadobe and adobe target<br \/>\nbut you get a bonus metric this<br \/>\nconversion is adobe target data so i can<br \/>\nsuit view to page which is nice i can<br \/>\nput the order thank you page but that<br \/>\nwouldn&#8217;t satisfy the requirement for the<br \/>\nthird visit um and there&#8217;s nothing here<br \/>\nto kind of help me refine that<br \/>\num<br \/>\nclicked in mbox this is a wonderful tool<br \/>\num very popular for um<br \/>\nfor visual editor uh driven campaigns uh<br \/>\nbut for this case i&#8217;m gonna use target<br \/>\nglobal mbox i&#8217;m gonna do target global<br \/>\ninbox<br \/>\nnow i&#8217;m gonna add in a requirement add<br \/>\nin audience targeting so what i&#8217;m going<br \/>\nto do here<br \/>\nis create a condition<br \/>\nthat say only count conversions<br \/>\nuh on that third visit to the card so<br \/>\nfirst thing i need to do is i got to<br \/>\ncreate like an order thank you page<br \/>\norder think you page do to do<br \/>\nagain we would you<br \/>\nfriendly little tip here<br \/>\npass the analytics page name to the<br \/>\ntarget global inbox that would be<br \/>\navailable here let&#8217;s just do this<br \/>\ncurrent page<br \/>\nurl<br \/>\ncontains<br \/>\nlet&#8217;s just say<br \/>\nthank you dot html<br \/>\nit&#8217;s not a real page<br \/>\nfor demo okay so i created the order<br \/>\nthank you page<br \/>\nso now what i&#8217;m going to do is combine<br \/>\nmultiple audiences i&#8217;m going to combine<br \/>\nthe order thank you page<br \/>\ni&#8217;m going to combine the third visit to<br \/>\nthe cart<br \/>\nso and then i&#8217;ll save this<br \/>\ni&#8217;ll select it and hit done<br \/>\nso now this success event let me uh let<br \/>\nme rename this it won&#8217;t matter for<br \/>\nanalysis just say<br \/>\npurchase on third card visit<br \/>\noh running out of characters<br \/>\ncart<br \/>\nvisit okay<br \/>\nso now um this is like this bonus<br \/>\nsuccess event so i&#8217;m gonna simply hit<br \/>\nsave and close<br \/>\ni&#8217;m not going to turn this on because uh<br \/>\nactually<br \/>\nno i&#8217;m not i actually don&#8217;t have offer<br \/>\nso i could turn it on um<br \/>\nso i could turn on no harm because<br \/>\nthere&#8217;s just default content it&#8217;ll just<br \/>\nshow<br \/>\nuh<br \/>\nso now the activity is live<br \/>\nand so within the reporting it&#8217;s a for t<br \/>\nso it&#8217;ll take a while to show data<br \/>\nwithin here i don&#8217;t think it&#8217;ll be yeah<br \/>\nso it&#8217;s not available just yet<br \/>\nbut to<br \/>\nlet&#8217;s just call this<br \/>\na test within so this now we&#8217;re into<br \/>\nanalytics<br \/>\nso organizations will have all of their<br \/>\nmetrics and all that wonderful stuff as<br \/>\nwell<br \/>\nbut to get this metric this goal that we<br \/>\nconfigured here<br \/>\nthis is an adobe target driven goal it<br \/>\nwould show up in analytics workspace as<br \/>\nactivity conversions<br \/>\nand this is applicable to any of your<br \/>\nactivities that are running an adobe<br \/>\ntarget<br \/>\nnow you can&#8217;t simply just drag over<br \/>\nactivity conversions and call it a day<br \/>\nyou&#8217;ve got to come into here and you&#8217;ve<br \/>\ngot to adjust the attribution model you<br \/>\nhave to change this to same touch<br \/>\nsame touch and hit apply<br \/>\nboom you&#8217;re done<br \/>\nso what this organization will now be<br \/>\nable to do<br \/>\nis exactly what they wanted<br \/>\nto be able to see in adobe analytics<br \/>\na success event based off an adobe<br \/>\ntarget definition of a success event so<br \/>\nreally freaking cool wonderful way for<br \/>\nadobe target and adobe analytics to work<br \/>\ntogether server-side to pass that<br \/>\ninformation along so<br \/>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And screenshots of the &#8220;Primary Goal
